All-State Audition Day

  • Who is eligible for All-State?
  • NO PAPER ADJUDICATION FORMS ARE NEEDED THIS YEAR. Scoring will done electronically. All sponsors will be emailed audition "tickets" that will need to be carried in and handed to the adjudicator. If they have their ticket, there is no need to check in. Students should still report to their scheduled room 15 minutes before their assigned time, when possible.
  • Members may register students on-site at Ponaganset HS on 11/15 for a fee of $35. If the sponsor is unable to attend in-person, a signed note sponsoring the student will suffice. These students will be sent to wait by the room for a no-show or gap in the schedule. Earlier is best if you plan to register on-site, as students will be sent to "wait by the room" for an opening, and not all rooms are open after lunch.
  • Due to numbers and/or scheduling requests, the following rooms are morning-only: ALL Jazz piano/guitar/bass, JUNIOR JAZZ sax, ALL bassoon/oboes, ALL percussion, ALL cellos/double basses; ALL French horns/euphoniums, ALL trombones/tubas, ALL violas, ALL classical guitars, ALL clarinets, JUNIOR vocal tenors/basses, JUNIOR trumpets, and SENIOR saxophones.
  • STUDENTS MUST HAVE AN ORIGINAL COPY of their sheet music. Students without an ORIGINAL COPY will not be allowed to perform. If an ORIGINAL COPY is no longer available, or was ordered and did not arrive on time, a letter/receipt from the publisher or music dealer confirming this fact must be attached to the photocopy. A temporary copy can be made for the student to play from (give the adjudicator the original) but it must be destroyed after the festival. Printed copies of IMSLP and CPDL pieces are allowed, including any music posted directly on RIMEA's website.
  • Equipment: Drums and percussion equipment will be provided in the audition rooms. For Jazz guitar and Jazz bass, an amplifier and quarter-inch cable will be provided. There will be a footstool provided in the CLASSICAL guitar room.
  • For everyone's safety and comfort, only background-checked RIMEA members/volunteers will be allowed in audition hallways. Sponsors may submit a BCI @ www.rimea.org/bci
  • Students are expected to behave properly the entire time they are on the Ponaganset HS campus. Unruly students will not be allowed to perform.
  • Strings warm-up room: library (room 101)
  • Wind and brass warm-up room: cafeteria (located in first floor, to left of check-in)
  • Vocal warm-up room: auditorium (room 137)
