Memorial Day 2020 - 1,000 Musicians Strong

Thanks to all that participated! #RIMemorialDay, #RIMusicians1000Strong, #RIMEAMemorialDay

This Monday, Memorial Day, Rhode Island's Music Educators have arranged for 1,000+ students from all over the state to perform the Star-Spangled Banner at 12 noon, to be immediately followed by a playing of Taps in honor of those that made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. All have been asked to go outside their homes in their own neighborhoods at that time and use their musical skills to bring appropriate solemnity and uplift to all Rhode Island citizens.

Any and all other Rhode Island musicians, young and old, are encouraged to join in singing and playing. RIMEA has provided music, guidance and instruction and hope this will be another clear demonstration of the importance of Arts Education for all students and to our society.

If you would like to, please feel free to record and post your performances #RIMemorialDay, #RIMusicians1000Strong, #RIMEAMemorialDay or, even better, UPLOAD A VIDEO OR PHOTO USING THE UPLOAD TOOL BELOW. If we receieve enough submissions, we edit the performances together into a final product to share.
